Demonstrating adaptability, expertise and teamwork.
Congratulations Jonathan Coulson - Expect 2026 Award Winner. 19-03-2026
Jonathan joined Glenfield Invicta as a Project Engineer just over eight months ago. The fact that he was successfully nominated for an 'Expect More of Yourself ' Award after such a short time in the business speaks volumes of his commitment, teamwork and expertise.
Jonathan studied Industrial and Product Design at Loughborough University. Before joining Glenfield Invicta, he gained extensive experience in the food processing sector, primarily focusing on conveyor systems and the dry handling of foodstuffs:
“In my experience, water and wastewater projects typically have to progress at a more measured pace which is largely due to the stringent and entirely appropriate emphasis on health and safety. Water and wastewater treatment facilities can present a range of significant hazards, including confined‑space environments, fast‑flowing water, and treatment processes that can pose very severe and even life threatening risks, in the event of an incident.”
Jonathan’s commendation noted that he had effectively assumed the management of several high-profile projects, while being relatively new to the industry, demonstrating strong adaptability:
'One of the projects I am now responsible for has been underway for approximately three years and is scheduled for completion in September 2026. The programme involves upgrading ageing infrastructure at an operational sewage treatment works, including the installation of 20 new penstocks within the coarse screen house. These penstocks play a critical role in removing large solids and debris from incoming wastewater, ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of the treatment process.'

Jonathan really enjoyed the Expect Awards event:
‘The venue (Ansty Hall) was lovely, and the event itself was well thought out by the organisation team. The talk by Danny Crates (Paralympian) was really inspiring. Lee (Foxall) did a great job on the mic as the Master of Ceremonies.’
