The event provided an opportunity for engineers to connect, share knowledge and strengthen relationships while taking part in a programme of presentations covering key topics affecting the industry.
Sessions throughout the day included health and safety updates from Iain Johnstone and Amba Siketi, high energy hazards presented by guest speaker Gemma Truscott of Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), nutrition and hydration advice from Jo of The Preventative Healthcare Company, mental health awareness with Kyle Johnston, employee wellbeing with Karen Burdge, and sustainability and environmental initiatives led by Thomas Power. Interactive team activities also encouraged collaboration and engagement among colleagues.
The day also celebrated individual achievements within the team. Congratulations were given to Leo Dunk on successfully completing his apprenticeship and to Kyle Johnston on achieving his NEBOSH Construction Certificate, recognising their commitment, hard work and professional development.
Reflecting on the event, the company highlighted the importance of bringing colleagues together to share knowledge, reinforce best practices and continue building a strong safety culture. The Stand Down Day demonstrated Engineered Site Solutions' ongoing commitment to creating a safer, healthier and more sustainable workplace while investing in the development and wellbeing of its people.
